Job Description

We are looking for a passionate, nurturing, and enthusiastic Level 3 Qualified Early Years Teaching Assistant to join our Outstanding mainstream primary school, based in Hackney, supporting in Nursery. Who can also support with after-school club.

Job Description:

  • Support children’s learning through play-based activities
  • Deliver phonics, reading, communication, and early literacy support
  • Encourage language development and social interaction
  • Support fine motor, sensory, and creative activities
  • Assist with outdoor learning and exploration activities
  • Support children’s emotional wellbeing and confidence
  • Help maintain a safe, stimulating, and nurturing classroom environment
  • Encourage independence and positive behaviour
  • Support children during transitions and daily routines
  • Assist with observations and child development monitoring

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds a full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification
  • Is passionate about Early Years education and child development
  • Has experience working within Nursery or Reception settings
  • Is warm, nurturing, and patient
  • Has strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Is creative, enthusiastic, and proactive
  • Understands safeguarding and child-centred practice
  • Can build positive relationships with children and families
  • Candidate must be willing to completed First Aid Training (if you are already Paediatric First Aid Trained then that’s a bonus!) and attend Staff Inset Day Training

Position: Level 3 Early Years Teaching Assistant

Setting: Nursery and After School-Club

Working Hours: 08:30am – 17:30pm (Full-Time)

Pay: £115 per day + £17.62 hourly for after school club

Start Date: 2nd September 2026

Contract: Full Academic Year (Long-Term)

Trial Days: Selected candidates will be invited to attend an interview and observation session as part of the recruitment process.
