Machine Operative

Connect Appointments is recruiting a Machine Operative to join an established steel manufacturing business based in Cumbernauld.

Our client manufactures steel fencing and gate components, offering a Monday to Thursday working week with three-day weekends and a competitive salary.

What's on offer?

• Full-time ongoing position
• Monday to Thursday, 6am to 4:30pm
• 16 to 17 per hour (dependent on experience)

As a Machine Operative, your duties will include:

• Operating power presses, brake presses, rolling mills and drilling machines to produce steel fencing and gate components
• Maintaining machinery in accordance with standard operating procedures and health and safety guidelines
• Conducting routine inspections to identify faults or defects
• Taking accurate measurements and making adjustments as required
• Reading and interpreting basic technical drawings and specifications

To be considered as a Machine Operative, you will need:

• Previous experience operating power presses, brake press machines or similar machinery
• The ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Good physical fitness due to the manual nature of the role
• A strong work ethic and reliable approach to work
